What’s new

New versions of our QGIS plugins

Here we publish information about new versions of our QGIS plugins, with a short description of what has changed.

  • WTG Visualization 1.45 – clearer turbine table in the PDF report

    • Clearer turbine table in the PDF report. The “Turbine”, “Azimuth” and “Distance” columns now sit side by side and repeat in further groups to the right. A panorama page now fits about 110 turbines.
    • “Save image…” remembers the folder. The save dialog opens in the last folder you chose and suggests a file name based on the photo point ID.
  • WTG Visualization 1.44 – correct turbine occlusion

    • Correct turbine occlusion. On the rendered panorama, a nearer turbine now always hides a more distant one. Previously, parts of a background turbine, such as the warning stripes on the blades, could appear on the tower of a turbine standing closer.
  • WTG Shadow flicker 1.14 – faster PDF report and new raster styling

    • The PDF report is generated many times faster – even with thousands of shadow flicker events in the calendar (previously up to several dozen minutes, now a few seconds).
    • Event calendar and total hours table in the report shown as clear tables with gridlines.
    • New fixed raster styling: classes every 10 h/year up to 100 h/year plus a “more than 100 h/year” class; areas without shadow flicker have no colour. The same style is used on the map in the PDF report, also for results calculated with earlier versions.
  • WTG Shadow flicker 1.13 – verified licensee

    • Verified licensee. The user name in the report header is confirmed by the plugin author’s digital signature.
  • WTG Visualization 1.43 – verified licensee

    • Verified licensee. The user name in the report header is confirmed by the plugin author’s digital signature.
  • WTG Shadow flicker 1.12 – PDF report with header and calculation parameters file

    • PDF report with a header (project name, licensee, calculation and report dates), page numbering and the analysis author in the footer; selectable and searchable text in the PDF; option to open the report after saving.
    • Turbine labels on the report maps match the event calendar.
    • Calculation parameters file (JSON and TXT) – full documentation of every analysis.
    • Coordinate system check – a warning about systems that distort distances (e.g. Web Mercator).
    • Results saved under a new name when the file is open in another program.
    • Calculation dialog settings are remembered, and windows fit the screen.
    • “Report a problem (diagnostic file)” function.
    • Compatibility with QGIS 4.
  • WTG Visualization 1.42 – faster folder selection

    • Faster folder selection. A folder chosen in one field of the data dialog is automatically suggested in the other fields: eraser masks, PNG images, PDF file and arrow layer.
  • WTG Noise 1.7 – verified licensee

    • Verified licensee. The user name in the report header is confirmed by the plugin author’s digital signature.
  • WTG Visualization 1.40 – works in any country

    • Works in any country. Layers can be in any coordinate reference system, including geographic coordinates in degrees. The plugin chooses the calculation CRS itself: PUWG 1992 in Poland and the appropriate UTM zone elsewhere.
    • True-scale turbine silhouettes on the map also for layers in WGS84 and Web Mercator.
    • Rotor diameter or blade length. By default, the rotor field means the rotor diameter. One click switches it to blade length.
    • Full control over folders. You choose the mask folder, image folder and report file in the data dialog every time you run the plugin. The fields are pre-filled with your last choice.
    • Scrollable summaries. Long lists of notes appear in a scrollable window, and missing eraser masks are reported in a single combined message.
  • WTG Noise 1.6 – clearer report header

    • Clearer report header. The project name, user name and dates always fit on one line. With long names the font size is reduced automatically and, if necessary, the text is shortened with an ellipsis, so nothing overlaps.
